Scope of work comprised of complete superstructure construction along with the Service Tower of UREA Prilling Tower, protective coatings on concrete surface (approx. 20,000 m2) and tiling on slabs with protective membrane at different elevations.
Besides the slipforming, civil work construction of scrapper slab and support columns, slabs systems at +109, +114 and +124 m elevations, heavy columns, beams and walls for air outlet windows etc. were also included in Tahtan’s scope. Work also included pre-casting of concrete slab elements and their erection up to +124m height.
Structural steel works comprised of stairs, landings, connecting platforms between the two towers at different elevations, inspection platforms for complete circumference. 04 no’s main trusses of 6 m height & 28 m span. Scope also comprises of erection of piping with their supports for different dia. pipes at different positions.
Planned, designed & prepared heavy lift of 485 tons from G.L to +114m elevation. M/s VSL was selected and taken on board for providing & operating heavy lift equipment consisting of 08 no’s, 70 ton capacity multi strand jacks along with their hydraulic lines & power packs. Jacks were mounted on 04 no’s lifting trusses designed, fabricated and installed on +124m elev. by Tahtan.
